Because my fuel tank is right above the engine breather on my track bike it tends to throw quite a lot of oil down the breather, is there anyway to prevent this? One way breather valve?

Maybe you can get it to clear the tank with summit like this?

Gates #19605

I got it to keep the checkvalve away from the radiator.

Thanks lads,
Does it matter which way up the valve is and how far it is from the motor?

If you get one of those valves Bushie has posted and cut it open,
to get the valve part out, you can turn a holder, glue the valve in, and zip tie it in the original breather hose.
Not applicable in your case canolman but food for thought.
Can you post some more pictures of your bike in the 'The Husaberg picture thread', looks interesting.

nice idea spanner

canolman yes you can put the valve anywhere it just needs to let airflow out not in.

I don't run one anymore I made a second reed valve inside the cases to cover the venting hole up near the intermediate shaft. (between the proper crankcase and the clutch cavity.)

same effect on oil spewing but the rockers can still run in a mist.

The spigot end goes to the valve cover, threaded end up. I used schedule 80 1/2" pipe on the top end of it, then heater hose with course foam safety wired into the end..

For your bike, I'd cut the spigot end down with a tubing cutter as it's plenty long enough. It may fit inside the port on the valve cover once the barb is cut off.

You could cut the huge nut down as well, to get more room as well.

UK supplier for BWD? Anyone?

There is a whole slew/slough of part numbers in the cv101 thread bushie posted.

Probably not a problem for most guys here but I installed a valve on my breather hose and it froze up during ice racing resulting in a blown valve cover gasket.

Would it be possible to block off the breather on the cam cover and vent through a modified oil filler cap?

yes they are available for the ktm rfs .. pretty sure its the same thread

Dr_C wrote he uses the starter motor hole as well as the top vent for case breathing

Bump!;)

Decided to go with two breathers, mate just modified this, interference fit and bonded in with Petro Patch, hoping it will take a little pressure from the top breather.

BUMP.

Just got my hands on a pair of check valves, the only way to fit them in the breather hose is upside down. Will any oil be thrown out and if so with the valves being upside down will this be a problem?
Would I need to use one valve per breather or two breathers into one or just use one breather and valve?
I've included two detailed CAD drawings to explain further.;)
Many thanks

Re-think,
I could fit the valve right way up if I put it above the oil filler and blocked off the head breather?
Another CAD masterpiece!

Canolman you bunyip it was you who stole my crayons!

one valve and one breather should work just as well as 2 open ones because the valve creates a vacuum and reduces blowby.

I used to run one external NAPA high speed valve and one 19mm breather pip on by 700.

Bunyip!!! I had to Wiki that!:D
I'll give one valve in the breather line out of the head a go, still seems strange that the valve can be upside down:rolleyes: Over the winter when I have more time I'll hollow the fuel tank out to give me a bit of room above the breather!
