Finished editing my videos last week and found some more picture, so here we go:

Day 1:
A long day starting at 5am with 240km liaison. The special had lots of high speed tracks becomming more rocky at the end.

Day 2:
Lots of fast tracks, some technical lunar landscape. Near the dunes of Erg Chebbi the pistes became really fast. After reflueling (I asked for 10L but they filled it up completely) we went into the dunes for 23km. I had some problems with boiling fuel but made it to the bivouac without any drama.

Day 3:
First some dunes, followed by an old Dakar route. Today the tracks are really fast but the head wind makes it really tiring. This is the lest exciting day.

Day 4:
Lot of fast sandy pistes. After crossing a mountain range the dunes of Erg Chigaga become visable. The sand is harder than Erg Chebbi which makes it quite easy to ride. After the dunes it is only 40km to the finish over the dry salt lake Iriki. Unfortunately I crash.....

Day 5:
Because of my crash at the end of day 4, I ride the assistance route (tarmac) instead of the race.

Day 6:
Because I skipped day 5 I had to start in the back. Today the route went through Qued Draa, which is a dry river bed most of the year. It had fast tracks but also sandy and rocky technical sections. It was a though day.

Day 7: The Final Countdown
I start as fourth. First we follow the coastline along some nice cliffs for about 70kms. At Cp1 we go into the river mounth towards the sea. This hard packed sand is great. After Cp2 it is only beach till the finish (>20kms). I takes a while till i realize i am first :evil.

Unfortunately the postition of my camera changed during the crash, so it is a bit low. The sea fog halfway does not help to get a better picture either.

This was my first rally on the Husaberg. I realy liked it, especially the long suspension. On my previous bike (KTM 690R) I had to brake hard for holes and jumps but on this one you just gass and jump it. Did one oil change and about 4 air filters.

The only problem was boiling fuel in the dunes. Fist I thought my fuel pump was dying till I opened the fuel tank: sssstttttt. It was really hot (45°C) so I cannot blame the bike.

That looked like a lot of fun! except the end of day 4 of course ...

How was the suspension set up for this? the more packed / rocky routes look similar to what we have over here

Supension was standard, except for the rear spring which was an 8.8nM to coop wit weight of the rear fuel tank.

Indeed some parts looked like the lava fields of iceland, but we did not have any deep water crossings :)

how fast were you going when you crash ? hope you didnt break anything ...

Last readable speed was 87km/h. I did not break anything but my back and neck are still hurting a bit.

Haha, sounds like you've been here maybe? :)

Thanks for the suspension info!

(Glad to hear you're not too badly beat up!)
