Hi I'm in the middle of looking for an aftermarket seat for my 2005 fs650e, My problem is that I'm getting really bad tailbone pains and I've heard there are some seats that will cure this problem but I can't find anybody who make's one. I have heard nothing but good things about seat concepts and I'm waiting to hear back from them to see if they would be able to make me a seat.

Does anybody know of any company's that make aftermarket seats for street riding. Any help would be appreciated

well you ant a new FOAM and not the whole seat including the pan? nobody ever made the WHOLE seat.

Guts Racing are meant to be the boys in the USA.

I live near Guts and dropped my seat off to get redone. I got the tall soft seat foam, and a gripper cover. it was great for a year or so. It was around $125 installed. (2 years ago)

It's worn now, it's too soft and not as comfy anymore after ~10k miles. I have switched back to the stocker.
I may go back and get the medium tall and have them add a step, so I don't have to pull myself forward all the time.

One adddd benefit of the soft foam is it let's you pivot/swivel in the seat when riding hard into a left, right, left ect. (if that makes sense?)

I'm looking at a seat like this, see how it get wider at the rear. this will give my butt a wider area to sit on. The guts seats seem to be the same width just taller.

the guys at Seat concepts got back to me and said that if I send them my old seat they can replace my seat foam with a custom wider foam and then put a new seat cover on.

my advice to anyone is: go for the so called hard, infact hard is soft in the long run and better on your arse!

an added bonus is that you get better bike control.

Did seat concepts give you a price? I tried to get a set from them and they only went back to 2009.

Hup. I had to send them my seat to Seat Concepts and they are making me a seat with my original seat pan for 250$ shipped back to Canada. Seeing that there seat kits are 160$ USD plus shipping, I think this is a reasonable price for a one off seat. The seat will also be suzuki yellow and yamaha wr blue. The suzuki yellow should match the bike pretty well but the yamaha blue will not match, I wouldn't be able to get any blue to really match my bike as my plastics are faded.

I should receive it at the end of january so I will post up picks when it arrives!

I went with Seat Concepts because there 250$ cheaper after shipping charges. Renazco was my next option. I've really good things about there seats also. but for the price and the good reviews I've heard about Seat Concepts seats I choose them.

Excellent! Indeed, Renazco is pricey. I'm not complaining because the workmanship is excellent and the comfort improved dramatically. Initially, I wasn't going to do it but I had a minor windfall of money I didn't expect to get so I let Renazco have it before it burned a hole in my pocket. If I were flush with money, I would highly recommend. However, I likely would not do it again on my normal budget.

I am curious to know about your results when you get your seat back from Seat Concepts. I have an ATK 605 Seat that could use a better cover and some re-shaping. I have held off on Renazco simply because I'm not as attached to the ATK as I am the 'berg and really don't think it's worth spending that much to improve the seat on a bike that has marginal $$ value and I don't "love" it. Again, a budgetary decision, not any reflection on the work of Renazco. It's really good work.

Please update the thread when you can! Thanks

The yellow on the sides is vinyl and matches the bike perfectly. The blue gripper material on top is too dark but I knew that when I ordered it. The seat is much wider in the seating area than the OEM, the foam also feels much better than the OEM seat. It was a total of 250$ for them to make my seat and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Great product and great quality at a reasonable price.
