how much of it is magnetic?
please put the year and model of your berg in your signature.

2001 FE400.

I tried to do a signature but it wouldn't let me. Said I'd exceeded the character limit of 0!

I've cleaned the filter now so cant check if it's aluminium, wish I'd read your post before doing that.

The bike vibrates bad but runs well.

Gutted

Will fill the bike up with oil, run again and see what it's like, check for magnetism.

After a few oil changes it's gotten better but I still get metal. They are magnetic. Is this normal? Would that first change perhaps have been long overdue or do I still need to look into it?

first place to look is the cam follower bearings and cam bearings. put it at tdc and pull off the top cover.
