Hey guys! I noticed lately my bike will leak fuel out of the drain on the back of the carb after i shut the bike off. Sometimes it doesn't and other times it leaks pretty bad. So would this be caused by the float sticking? I've never had a carb torn apart so i am a little hesitant on doing the work myself, Is it hard? or is it a task that can be easily done just a little bit of patience, i rebuilt the top end on a drz400 before so i do know some about motors. Thank you for any help! The bike still runs perfect right now even though it drips fuel after its shut of if that helps any! Thanks again!

Hi
Yes it can be the float valv not closing for some reason, you must check, it's easy.
But it can be also the o-ring that seals around where the float valv works, when its good it goes in very thight, I just don't remember the o-ring size right now.

Hi there,
the other week we had a bike do the same.
Try riding the bike with the fuel off. Once the bike stops , it leaves the needle and seat open due to empty fuel bowl, turn the fuel on again, if your lucky it may flush the surface and get rid of any debris sitting between the two.
Worth a try before pulling carb apart.

Hi Guys,
Just to contribute on this topic base on experience....everytime I encounter this, I simply tap the carb using a screwdriver head to loosen the floater's pin hinge...for whatever reason, the floater sometimes get stuck on a downward position, thus keeping the fuel on continouos flow...beats opening it immediately..My 2 cents..
