don't worry about the low points - they can't do any damage. worry about the high points you plonker! they are what do the damage!

your bike will run for years with a few scratches.

I think plonker is a typo, obviously they were saying plonka, crazy british guys

thomas,

i couldnt see your last photos, it said they had a virus and were deleted by my computer so it wouldnt let me download them. not sure if its just me or if others are having the issue, i had the same thing on a different link on this site yesterday.

maybe the bloody plonka's have got me computer infected

well I would buy a new piston. it really has been badly scratched and little of the original surface is left. you'll need a 'C' or as the factory make them a 'II' (Roman).

if you are desperately short of money you could use it again but it would take a mechanic of great skill to save it.

Thank your for the info. I would like to mention that the marks on the cylinder are much rougher than on the piston, If u take the piston and run your fingers along the marks, it resembles touching a nail grinder. Anyway If I will buy a new piston, I will have the cylinder repaired too. Hopefully I will not have problems for a while then. I would rather have it sitting in the garage for a while, then repairing it correctly once I have money, at least I can go riding and not worry then.

Cheers,Tom
