First impressions;
A lot of fine metals in the oil filter and wire screen after the oil was dropped at 1 hr. No large pieces, but more than I thought. The back end is a joke where the indicators and number plate are mounted. This was quickly changed but now I am looking for the slim type indicators that are flush mounted to the rear fender.
Can anyone point me in the direction of these?

First foray into some nice bush was eventful. Went riding with a friend, taking it easy so I could get acquainted. Rode about 20kms from the utes and wend down a hill that turned nasty half way down with big washouts and sharp rocks. So the ride back up was tough and I dropped it at a rocky section, not hard, but enough to break the front brake leaver. And this is where something annoying happened. The bike fell to the right, but somehow the radiator hose on the left side split just below the hose clamp. I think it must have been my boot nudging it whilst trying not to get crushed!

This is when I noticed the weight of the thing. We tried to push it up the hill but it was very slow progress. So a little bush craft and I managed to collect the fluid, cut the hose just below the break and stretch it enough to re-join it. Luckily my friend had some deminiralised water back at the utes so I could ride it back.
This fox seems to have worked ok as once I topped up the fluid and had a test ride it held ok and didn't loose any further fluid.

So all I could do is a few laps of a circuit we found, splashing through big puddles and whoops before the time came to leave. In that 1 hour I decided hands down this is the best bike I've ever ridden. As each lap went by I felt more comfortable and started to push a little more. Before I knew it I was reeling in my friend on his RMZ450 with ease, and whilst short shifting. How hard is it running in a bike this size, not letting yourself get carried away and opening the throttle?!!!

An eventful start to the relationship, one that will be full of smiles and heartache (when you have to fork out for all the goodies to keep it just the way you want it). I can't wait for the new hose kit, my steg pegz and a day to blast off again.
