I modded the stock end cap today. I enlarged the opening just a little.
I have 2 650s , one with the Akrapovic an other stock exhaust.
It feels like the Akra give me at least a few HP more and the stocker feels
a little restrictive compared.
So I wanted to give the stock exhaust a little more pop, but at the same time not destroy
it or alter it to much an mess up the jetting.
So I used a carbide burr and burred out the opening until the sleve seperated, then remove it.
I then cleaned up the opening some so it looks about the same. I left all the spark arrestor stuff
inside the exhaust. The opening is slightly bigger now but seems to add throttle response without being
too loud. I will test it soon.
I think it will work out great because of it just being slightly altered.

Nice job with the burr bit. Just wondering if you tested it out. I was thinking of somehow opening up the can on my 06 650 so i was curious how yours worked. I like what you did because it costs nothing.

It worked great. It added a little more pop to the powerband and didn't mess up the jetting.
I went about 1/8 of a turn more out on the fuel screw before the ride and just needed to turn the idle
down a little bit after it warmed up.

It was a little too loud. More so than the other bike with the Akrapovic. And the hole is even smaller than
the Akrapovic.
So I made a 2inch sleve that fits over the hole from the inside. I JB welded it on.
It now has the basic same design as stock with a shorter and larger diameter sleve and opening.
