Seeing as i have a spare tank laying in the shed, I thought i would have a go at taking out the fuel pump to see what all the fuss is about, i.e. inline filters and wires falling off. The only thing i did find that i thought was very bad, Was the tube from the pump to the inline filter had a kink in it and must of been restricting the fuel flow 8O .
Anyway thought i would share this, maybe its something to keep an eye out for when reinstalling the pump after you have had it out.
Just glad it was a spare one and not on my bike, i will be checking that one as soon as i get time  .[attachment=0:25tkmetf]fuel pump 004.JPG[/attachment:25tkmetf]

As you can see from the picture the kink is quite bad.
So I'm thinking of replacing that hose with something else, Can you use ordinary fuel line the rubber type ? seeing as its going to be submerged in petrel.
I would like to iron out these little problems, And have the spare tank ready to use.
All ideas will be greatly received.
mark. :bounce3:

I think that hose is under pressure when the fuel pump is running, so you need a hose and fittings that can withstand the pressure. I wonder if the kink straightens out when under pressure????

That is a good thought DeeG, Might be worth wiring it up out of the tank and see what happens maybe the pressure will open up the hose.

I noticed a similar looking kink the same hose but right off the pump. The system operates at 44-58 psi. I've never had a problem until I changed the in tank filter and must have knackered up the strain on the wiring and that's why the wire fell off.

It would be interesting to see what happens under pressure if you wire it up outside the tank.

Thanks for the post!
