Was draining rad coolant to change it today and at first thought this bolt/plug by kick start lever (see pic) was the air bleed screw...nope...screwed it back in but not sure how far. Found proper bleed screw on R side below the decomp cable and finished up.

Any ideas? I went through the fiche for bike and still couldn't find it. Enquiring minds want to know![attachment=0:5lycla5t]Berg mystery bolt.JPG[/attachment:5lycla5t]

thinnk thats the top screw that holds the cam chain slider in place.

Ooohhhh, it wasn't really tight when I turned it out so I didn't know how much to turn it back in after I discovered I had the wrong bolt. Makes sense.

Should I tighten it up to say 10ft lbs? I DID not completely turn it out thankfully.

Nope never took this bolt out only loosened it and couple of turns and since no coolant came out I knew immediately that I had the wrong bolt. There isn't a locknut since it's internal. If this is the cam chain tensioner bolt it should be going into a spacer shaft I'll bet.

you wont be able to tighen that up again.cause the nut & bolt will just spin. the only way to stop the nut from spinning is to take the rocker cover off & use a openender.
it should be a nyloc nut thats spinning on the other end.it just tighens down on to a spacer that goes through the eye of the cam chain blade.shouldn't be a problem, the nyloc nut will stop it from coming off even if it is a bit loose.
..weed..

Coolant bleed screw.

Weed,

You got it! Should I tighten the nylock up or leave it? It does just spin and if I recall, it never really 'broke' loose when I errantly turned it to the left.

You can just leave it. The nut should not fall off. If it starts to seep oil, clean it off and apply a dab of RTV sealer around the bolt head.
If you ever have the rocker cover off you can give it a snug.

Yeah, I just did the valves 2 rides ago. Thanks everyone for your help!! Have a super Memorial Day Weekend :)
