Yeah johnd I agree the FE570 is a weapon.
I am a pretty poor rider and always last anywhere, but I found the bike easy to ride up hard hills yesterday. Down low it was as docile as my mates FE450 2008 bike as far as I could remember. I thought the 570 might be a bit too snappy for my poor riding skills, but it is great. I putted slowly up a fairly rocky fire trail yesterday in first gear. I could feel my right knee getting hot from the Thermo Fan :?
I have not tried setting the map switch to soft or aggressive yet. I have not needed to use soft and definitely don't need aggressive.
Engine braking down hill was great.
I can't believe the acceleration the bike has on the tar road and how the front wheel starts coming off the ground when you gently twist that throttle the last half. Definitely a little different to riding my trusty old 1989 TT250
The 570 motor just ticks along at 100Kph in top. The steering felt a little twitchy at 105Kph on the tar, that was quick enough for me.
I had no idea what model Husaberg to buy and took a guess on the FE570 with a map switch. I was hoping I could manage the tough hills with the map switch on soft. I am really glad I brought the 570 and have no interest now in even riding the 390 or 450. I can crawl up a hill as slow as I like on the 570. On the smooth tar or dirt roads that 570 power is just the best feeling.
So if you see a bunch of DRZ’s, WR’s, FE450 (08) and a Husqvarna go past with a FE570 about 1 or 2 minutes behind them, that will be me, yell out gidday Davo.
