I bought a DCR Flat Track that was almost complete a few months ago, im putting this up as a log of whats happening with it :)

you can see it here in original form before the chop, 57 plate 650.

but then it was handed to Dave Clarke Racing and they chopped it up! it looked like this when I bought it from a nice man called Simon.

It had 39 hours on it and 1800 miles when I bought it and was basically a brand new bike, less than 60 miles between the last MOT's I had.

I tidied it up a bit, changed the oil, all filters and added Titanium foot rests and drove it around every day for a couple of weeks.

Then I discovered pro-bolt, and started to replace the bolts one by one, this was a tedious task as they snap alot, like 50% snap rate, then I had to carefull remove the snapped parts and do it all over again, not worth the effor tbh but ive bought them now so they are going on it.

Then I discovered pro-carbon and went a bit mad, front fender, foot protectors and fork protectors where ordered then I had to modify them to fit, a bit of dremmel action and she was good to go.

then disaster!

tank shattered, it cracked away like the bike was so powerful it just pulled it apart.

so I asked the local fabricator who was making a numberboard headlight if he could repair it, he could and did :)

and when it was done the repaired tank looked like this.

I bought a dual beam single headlight bulb (road legal) and got the Fabricator to put it in the numberboard he was making, he knows nothing about electrics so delivered it to me yesterday and just now (im on R&R) I wired it all up and tested it

Ive also added the husaberg fuel vent, blue anodized husaberg clutch cover and decomp cover, blue carb lines, Husaberg Grips and carbon fiber chain guide, I have some blue samco hoses for the radiator so will change these over when I do the valves (another 15 hours I recon)

now as you can see in the pics above, the paint is buggered on the tank, so what ive done is hooked up with Piers (Bikes & Murals | Motorbike Paint Jobs - Piers Dowell) and asked him if he can paint the berg in a retro design using the Husaberg blue yellow white and black colours and the HBG logo/new font for branding :)

just need to call Piers and book it in . . . . . . I'll keep you all updated :)

EDIT for some reason this image of the donor bike is not showing

try again . . . . .

second Edit - needed to add front mudgaurd as no mudguard + open face helmet + herefordshire country lanes with lots of horse dung = not a very nice taste!

the current to do list,

paint
Fix front brake light switch
find some padded tape thick enough for the tank to grab onto the frame (prevent future cracks)
buy the trail master switch to set the speedo correctly . . . . or buy a vapor dash computer and replace the original
look into ohlins suspension front and rear.
instal Husaber suspension foam protectors.
remove cooling system, check valves and put back together with Samco Blue hose kit and stainless hose clips.
replace all bolts not replaced yet with stainless steel (ive done quite alot already)
polish spokes (they are a bit dull)

& RIDE IT! :)

with the vapor dash is it pretty much plug and play or do I have to mess about with it to get parts of it working (rev counter as example) ?

The rev counter is just their pick up wire coiled around the HT lead!
You can programme in a shift light and max revs, warning lights for the temperature etc...

Oh and set your wheel diameter up perfectly for the speedo.

cheers for that Carl, the cable to make my speedo work with the 19" wheels is like 60 quid, think ill just get the vapor for 90 and be done with it!

been looking at these too, to replace the levers and switching and tidy up the bars.

Master cylinders - Products - ISR Brakes

ISR Brakes

only problem is I dont know if they have one with the decomp lever and its call only not email, mabe if one of our swedish members could call and find out ? if they do, ill buy em :D
