How I did it was converting to sumo wheels, hubs, tires, fork, shock, rotors and front brake caliper and master from a Husaberg FS model.

You can also buy aftermarket kits; wheels, hubs, tires, rotor, caliper relocation bracket from places like motostrano.com, epicmotorsports.com etc.. Check out the forums at SuperMotoJunkie.com for everything sumo.

Your best bet, IMHO, is to shop around for used ktm or husey parts, and find out what fits your bike. I think(?) your bike uses the smaller diameter axle(s). Or lace up different rims on your hubs. I got the most bang for my buck by buying used. Good luck!

Nope, but it was a direct swap. Only trick was getting that 5" rim with monster michelin slick in the swing arm. I took the caliper and chain guide off to get it in. I read another trick on here I will try when I put dot tires on. If you get KTM or Husey parts, it should be as easy as putting in your enduro parts. I'll post pics when I get back in town after vacation....

I was really lucky and a UHE member wanted to sell the FS setup. I put a "wanted" add up here and supermotojunkie, I had three offer in less than one week!

It's possible to mount the 5" rim with Michelin SM slicks if you have the original chain guide and with the brake caliper in place. Yup it's tricky but it's possible. A little fiddling and putting it in a bit sideways, then some more fiddling and then your done... (oh yes it will be sooo much easier to mount that wheel when the caliper isn't in the way. )

(it's also possible to remove the battery without removing the rear shock, but that's a totally different story and I'll be damned if I could do it. I've seen been done though. )

Re: Enduro to Supermoto

just a note on getting the rear wheel in... just went through this with my 08 fe450 and 5" ktm rear.

i had the chain guide removed, but the caliper in place. Feed the wheel in from the top, opposite side to the brake caliper.

just sort of feed it down, aligning the gap between the rotor and the wheel lip to where the caliper is and that worked for me.
