What weight fork oil are you really using?

I'm sorry I can't answer your question.

I consider the $700 for a full suspension package part of the purchase price of my bike. I get the springs replaced for my weight (100kg/220lbs) as all race-type bikes are sprung for <80kgs, and get it revalved to my riding & terrain style.
Dunno if it is heaps better, it feels like it and I feel good about it and that is all that matters!

If you buy your bike from a suspension specialist, that fortunately also sells Husabergs, like I did - I pretty well got the $700 for free. I think I only paid for the parts, the suspension work was done as part of the set-up. (MPE Caloundra - tidiest workshop & neatest mechanics in the world)

I would say his point is that you cant say. There is no standard in fork oil viscosity, a brand that claim 5 can be equivalent of 3 for another brand. So it's best to find a fluid that is of good quality and have good properties and then stick to that brand. If you setup your suspension and then change to another brand of fluid all your earlier settings are changed..

The suspension tuners around here say to use Maxima racing or regular fluid, and stay away from Belray.

Personally I use Öhlins 5.0. Then again I have Öhlins suspension. Regardless of that it's supposed to be a good oil so I would use it anyway.

it sounds like you were happy with MPE Suspension, blackboots45? just wondering because i had work done there recently and it was a bit of nightmare scenario and i'm now trying to fix it all at home. i ran with them because all the old posts raved about their work but it seems over the past year or so they have been botching up and not providing good after sales support?
