AMA Supermoto in Denver this weekend.

Hey all,

Here's a little press release that I am about to send out to some other Supermoto related sites. I thought you guys should be the first to read it.

We're putting in a pretty big effort for this weekend up in Denver, so if you are in the area, please stop by. It should be a good show.

Regards
Colin

When I download the file, I get something called "modules.php", so you might want to take a look at that.

It appears to be short enough that you can post it here as text.

Also, did you add the part about Barrett Long being a porn star ?

Cheers,

Brett

Re: AMA Supermoto in Denver this weekend.

For those who couldn't see the attachment, here is the text. I had some nice pix in there also, but I seem to be a little retarded on proper posting porcedures.

Regarding the porn star reference, since I was not able to absolutely confirm whether or not the Barrett Long that is joining our race team is the same Barrett Long that comes up on a google search, I chose to leave that information off the press release.

Here you go:

Loire Racing Aero P.A. Husaberg
Doubles Up For Denver Doubleheader

After completing the first half of the 2006 AMA Supermoto Season in a solid 5th place in the Unlimited Class, the Loire Racing Aero P.A. Husaberg Team went back home over the 6 week summer break to continue testing and development and return even stronger for the second half with an ultimate goal of cracking the top 3 in the overall team standings. Part of that effort includes the addition of 2 more riders starting with the Cyclefest Supermoto Doubleheader in Denver, CO August 25-26th.

Team Riders:

#502 Robert Loire:
Lead rider Robert Loire currently sits in a tie for 6th place in the Supermoto Unlimited class. Robert has placed in the top 10 in all 5 rounds to date, but has not been able to duplicate his season opening 5th place finish since leaving California. Robert has spent much of the summer break working on new engine and chassis settings in order to get back into the top 5 in the season championship.

#804 Colin Horn:
In the first half of his rookie season of supermoto racing Colin has done a lot of learning. The results have started to come around close to expectations with a season best finish so far of 15th place at Rd 4 in Utah. Colin looks to continue the improvements with more top 15 results for the rest of the year.

#129 Barrett Long:
Barrett is new to the Loire Racing Team and the world of AMA Supermoto racing, but is looking to make a big impact right away. The son of former factory roadracer John Long and an accomplished roadracer in his own right; Barrett’s career highlights include a top ten series finish in the now defunct AMA 250 GP series in 2002, and multiple top 20 finishes in the AMA Supersport and Formula Extreme series. This weekend, Barrett finished a season best 14th at VIR in the Supersport class and currently sits 20th in that championship while running a part-time schedule.

#9 Olivier Annequin:
Olivier is a longtime veteran of the French and European Supermoto Series’. Currently Olivier sits in 6th in the 2006 French SM Open championship. This will be Olivier’s 4th trip across the pond to compete in the AMA series, and the third time on Husaberg equipment. Olivier will be joining the team for the Denver Doubleheader and possibly other rounds yet to be confirmed.

The Loire Racing Aero P.A. Husaberg Team would like to thank all the sponsors that have helped us get where we are this season:
Barrett Marketing Group (husaberg.com), Michelin Tires, Loire Racing, Aero P.A. Suzuki/KTM/Husaberg (aero-pa.com), Factory Connection Suspension, JMS Performance, Wiseco Pistons, MXWebsites.com, QTM, Factory Pro Racing, FMF, and 909.

Barrett and John are really looking forward to this weekend... I am curious to see how Barrett does. With virtually no seat time compared to the rest of us, he has come out to the kart track on a 450 with shagged tires and been faster and more consistent than all the rest of us.

Good luck to everyone sporting the yellow and blue!!!

ps-ask Barrett how the wealthymen.com deal is working out!

What a struggle this weekend.
Robert Loire, as usual was tough and consistent, with seventh place finishes on both Friday and Saturday. Robert got a great start in the Saturday final, lapping in second place behind eventual winner David Baffeleuf. But the conditions were so dodgy (pouring rain, slick track) that hanging on to the spot proved impossible. Robert crashed four times on his way to his seventh place finish. The rest of the team had an even tougher time of it, with only Annequin making the show on Friday. Olivier is tough as nails, but his veteran carcass could only take so much abuse, and he retired from the race after crashing hard in the dirt section. Colin Horn suffered the indignity of being taken out in the LCQ on Friday by his own novice teammate, Barrett Long. More later....

Wow that track looks like a wet sloppy mess!

7th place for Robert Loire is a good result. Nice to need Husaberg mounted riders finishing in the top 10.

The pavement portion of the track had some lovely brand new driveway sealer on it:
