drop the needle or the PJ is too large. but normally the needle is too rich and needs lowering,

I'd have a go with it using a wideband exhaust gas analyser myself (Because that would be fun to me. I'm not certain at all that it's the right way to do it, but more instrumentation and data can't be bad?)

I tried my hand at some other bits on the bike, it turns out this bike really wants to keep hold of the 42 on the rear.

So much so it will not come off! I've tried Allen keys and Spanner's! The holes are rounding and so are the nuts. It's stuck solid!

I think the drill and maybe the grinder are going to have to be used in this one.
