RE: bumpity, bump....

Hi MotardHooligan,
I know it's not the 650 but I thought I would post my own opinion about my bike...
I have owned my supermoto'd FE501 for just over a year now and I can truly say everytime I go out on it I amaze myself! Now I have gone the whole hog with this bike in terms of tuning and setting it up perfectly for supermoto'ing and, although I've never ridden the 650 I'm sure it can't be too much better... Put it this way... I scare myself enough on this bike and can't possibly dream of going any faster! That said though it's not just the scares that this bike give me... Sometimes, after a particulaly good set of bends where everything just comes together, I am quite honestly screaming in my helmet through shear joy! The emotions brought up by riding a bike like this are simply staggering!
I think what I am trying to say is that I don't think it matters which 'berg you get... They're all superb bikes! Just make sure you've got all the protective gear on!
Thanks from huss

Re: Welcome to the new SM forum (Read before posting anything)

On the subject of supermoto my first bike was a 2005 Fs650e. I had had a go on a bike twice before and didn't do to well ended up on my arse both times. Then I ended up with a car that needed some repairs and to far to walk to work. A mate of mine said take the bike just be nice to it and you'll be OK maybe have a bit of a practice around the streets before you get into peek hour. So on the trailer I got the bike home Saturday night went and bought a helmet Sunday arvo (about 3pm) and armed with nothing else No Bike Licence I headed out to see what would happen. The 2 bikes i had come off one a DT200 and the other an old XR250 now the 650 was going to be interesting. I did a few laps of the street and was terrified to twist the throttle but started to get confident after an hour or two. Monday morning was going to be a test hit the traffic and that was scary. By the end of the week I recon I was getting better at it but i can honestly say that this was not a beginners bike. But fell in love with it and when I had to give it back to may mate I was devo'd. So when he decided to get rid of it a year or so later I had to have it back. It lasted a 1000 km then required a full rebuild $5000 and now its in the back yard in bits (broken valve spring on new motor 700K's) Went looking at bikes last week as i wasn't happy that my toy was buggered again. rode a 510 husky, KTM's, Suzuki and was disappointed with them all they all felt like beginners bikes soft and uninteresting. the 650 is an out and out weapon my daily ride is an 07 sprint and have clocked up some K's on that and that is quicker than the berg and very civilised and for every day use great, but when I want to have my eyelids torn off and piss off other motorists my choice will be the little 650 every day!!

Good Day
I own a Husaberg FE 650 2006/7 model the engine blew due to incorrect sprokets.
I cannot get spares in South Africa.
I have sourced an 2001 Husaberg 650 to canabalize to my newer 650.
Will the 650 engine fit the newer frame?
cam anyone advise?

01 engine should fit straight in, will need the 01 wiring loom/electrics. I think the only thing you'd need to do is rig up something where the earths connect to the frame on the 01 (circular formation of blade connectors)
