I Ride: 2010 FS570
Bought a 2010 FS570 few questions!

Hi guys,
Got my FS 570 a few days ago, 5k km's totally stock except for the baffle being removed from the stock silencer. The bike starts and runs fine apart from on decel it seems to wants to surge a bit, almost as if it wants to stall. It has sat unridden for about a year but has been started and stored carefully. I thought this might have something to do with the stock ecu map? so I rang my KTM/husaberg dealer and inquired about having the ecu flashed to the performance map and was told there was no other maps available except for the Enduro model map which was supposed to perform better then the map that comes standard with the FS? any info u guys can give me about this would be great.

Second question..the previous owner has lost both the keys to the steering lock. How should i procede here? I have ordered a new barrel kit that comes with keys and a new pin ect but would i be able to just get a locksmith to make a new key for it instead? i really don't like the idea of drilling out the pin holding the lock barrel into the headstock to remove the old lock.

Cheers

I had issues with my stalling when i would pull in the clutch approaching something so much as a stop sign. The map was causing some of the issues as well as the emission garbage that has to do with the exhaust recirc. My dealer installed the Husaberg's "Race Map" and the bike idled and ran a lot better.

Removing the emission equipment helped get rid of the off throttle chatter and backfiring.

you might be able to contact ktm with your VIN and sort out the key issue.

Hey mate, i took the bike to the dealership and it has already had all the emission gear removed. The dealership mechanics insist that there is no such thing as a Race map for the FS570..only the enduro competition map that is used in the FE570 offroad model..which is maybe what people are talking about?

Anyway they say that my gutted silencer is probably what is making the bike run bad due to the loss in back pressure. I have set the map switch to 2 (agressive mode) which has made it run a little better but I'm also going to try fitting a FMF 4.1 TI slip on and see if this helps it run smoother down low and under decel..because at the moment its quite jerky at low speeds and can be a bit unsettling at times when backing off the throttle thru a low speed corner. I have also had a new steering lock fitted which was an easy job.

Cheers.
