Re: husaberg fs 570 "project"

I think the low weight on front end on these things is making sport bike tires not the best choice for fast riding.
When I compared the softness on dot street tire and kr106 dunlop, the dunlop felt like chewing gum compared to SC pirelli.

Sidewall strength seems a bit different also, but don't know does that make a big difference.

I think I will get myself a set of these kr1 front kr2 rear

Only downside they are not street legal but I can (dis)mount my tyres myself so that's not a big deal

I took an angle grinder and shaved those "not for highway use" letters off the sidewall.

My Shorai is ~650g, but it's the bigger 14Ah version. The smaller might be another 100g lighter or so.
Thats a lightweight battery you also got.

Re: husaberg fs 570 "project"

this one has equal power compared to stock only +10 cca (140vs 130).
I did have to use 2 spacers to get same height making it 600gr compared to 2080gram stock

Now that you mentioned it I also had to use some foam pads to up the height, so the terminals were close enough to put leads back on. Maybe it's 700g now.

Re: husaberg fs 570 "project"

handguards/axle sliders/Hid kit/frame protectors/dna filter add more than 1.5kg to the bike so the lithium battery is a must
The fmf pipe is only 0.5kg lighter than stock and alpina's = -2.5kg approx so the bike is only 2-3kg's lighter than stock my (very un accurate scale) weight the bike at 125kg fully fueled with alpina's I think it's a few kg's lighter than that...

How much those Alpinas weight without tires?

2.5kg less than stock wheels and stock wheels are damn light??

I must weight my Excels when I get them laced back together and with the tubeless mod done. My Beringer rotor is approx 500g heavier than stock Braking rotor. I have yz450f Alpinas with tires on them so I might scale them also, but they are not carbon matrixes.

Re: husaberg fs 570 "project"

Yes the weight difference compared to stock wheel is huge
I weight both wheelsets naked without bolts/disc/sprockets:
-frontwheel hsb 4.47kg vs 3.4kg alpina
-rearwheel hsb 6.1kg vs 4.78kg alpina
complete wheelset hsb 10.9kg
copmlete wheelset alpi 8.2kg = 2.7kg lighter! the rear hub/hub carier stock is very heavy with cush drive etc
So even with a bigger rear tyre on the back rim the rear wheel still is almost 1kg lighter compared to stock

Alpina claims there carbo wheel are +30% lighter compared to stock and there other non carb tubeless wheels are the same weight compared to other wheelsets except withou tube is lighter but stock wheel are also without tube...
But if you lose the cush drive the wheels will definetley be lighter
