Hey! What mounting kit did you use when installing the Vapor? I'm also kinda wanting a better computer that shows revs and coolant temps. Looks like in your pics that it fits just barely in there where the stocker was.

I was afraid to bite the bullet and get the vapor, but it needs to be mounted in stock location so I can fit steering damper also.

E: Also how wide is that oem handlebar?! I see that you can install those zeta handguards without interfering with headlight mask. I have pro taper EVO with carmichael bend 800mm wide and zeta handguards. I can't fit those same handguards without removing the mask so that oem bar needs to be at least 850-900mm wide. I bent my oem bar and threw it in the trash bin so thats why I'm asking.

Re: husaberg fs 570 "project"

I didn't use any mounting kit for my vapor but made a custom bracket out a piece of metal (cut in shape so it fits just inside the stock bracket and drill holes where the rubber mounts are for stock speedo)
I have drilled 2 more holes for the threads inside vapor dash mounted the vapor so it is just touching the headlight mask in the 2 corners but it's not puhing on the mask
Together wit the HID conversion there' a lot of junk behind/under my mask but I have just enough room to fit everything in place inch perfect :P

My bars are approx 815mm wide (stock)

Thanks.

Will put order on cyclebuy.com for vapor, fastway evolution air pegs and some other small bits. Won't dare to get the Ohlins damper yet as it's ~$650.

Re: husaberg fs 570 "project"

I am realy happy with the stock suspension/brakes of the fs570
my 08 fs650 was good to but I replaced the master cilinder with a beringer BRO and beringer floating rotor for better feel/track performance do'nt feel the need to change anything on the 570.
the suspension is good to now I have found a good setup (had a lot more trouble getting the 650 sorted out chattering front end in some corners)

I found this from renthal the specs from my (stock) bars are 827-01 in the list as you can see compared to other type of bars/bends big control area making it easy to install handguards:

You sure you have a stock suspension?

I got mine revalved quite fast because I could not get rid of front end diving and ride height was too high.
Brakes I upgraded to Beringer BRO10 master and Beringer rotor, stock Magura 4 piston radial still as I think the caliper is really good. Now the brakes have super smooth feeling in them, and long gone is the wooden feel of Magura master / braking rotor.

I still think the suspension needs some fine tuning done to it. Maybe add tad more preload on forks and check sag then. Rear shock static sag was 25mm, but didn't measure rider sag.

Ahh now I see! 222mm vs 180mm on my pro taper.

Thats why my headlight mask covers the left handguard bolt. Should have known better, but I still love my new pro taper. Had Factory Suzuki / KTM stock bend before and quite much hated it. Was narrow and really sharp high bend with not much sweep.

I have only done 1 and a half trackdays with it and so far think it's fine I lost the front end once without any warning on my 1st session of 1st trackday wich cost me some confidence in the front end braking into corners but mid corner/straight line hard braking or accelerating out of corners the bike realy feels GREAT
I'm planning on doing some more trackdays next year and I will see how happy I feel about it after a few trackdays might get springspecialist work done to it after next winter because It wouldn't hurt to service the schock/forks anyway small extra amount of cash to get some other springs in it and adjusted to my weight.
Now the springs are a bit to hard for me (+- 10/15kg but it feels fine to me after using the softer comfort settings from the manual) I only weigh 62kg

62kg

That bike must fly you on it. Add 24kg to that and it's close to my weight. I think I need stiffer springs but will see when I get to measure rider sag both front and rear.

One word of caution, if you run dot street tires on it and ride fast pace on track you are bound to loose the front end often. I tried the stock Mich pilot sports and Pirelli diablo supercorsas, and while they were ok on street I found them to be really scary on track a few times. Trail braking made them to wash out almost every time and braking on the sand was joke. Once I tried pure SM slicks michs pilots and Dunlop KR106's I'm not going back to street tires on track.

Good wheels and tires transforms the bike into a completely different animal.

Re: husaberg fs 570 "project"

yeah loved those kr dunlops on my 650 But they are hard to find for a decent price damn expensive tyres
I crashed using a supercorsa sc1 (old pattern) should be e good tire.
I still have an old pirelli superbike front slick in my shed I used on my zx6r that I'm planning to use for 1/2 trackdays on the berg
For the rear I got a brand new maxxis pre cut slick (road legal) laying around.
Not THE best tryes but I'l start from there
If I do'n like the front slick I throw it away after the 1st day and try another tyre next time
I felt I had enough grip on the rear with very narrow 150/60 supercorsa (not even an sc) so the bigger 160 maxxis should be better (atleast I hope )
