Washington State Husaberg get together/ride 9/27-9/29!!!

Hello all Husaberg enthusiasts

I would like to organize a Husaberg get together/ride for late September here in Central Washington within the Teanaway system. Yes, Teanaway. Our group of good friends are planning on riding this area on the 27th-29th. On the Unofficial Husaberg members map, there seems to be roughly 19 members within a 6 hour drive of Cle Elum.

I want to welcome other Berg riders while I "guide" you through some epic Washington single track. I know this area very well, as it is my back yard! Even if you have ridden here, I know of several secret trails that may be new to you

We will be camping the entire three days, but, day rides are always great as well, if that works for you. Camping space will be plentiful, with simple directions. PLENTY of Rum and tequila, but family friendly at the same time.

Riding a Husaberg isn't a must, but I sure hope to see some! The owners of Trailtech will be there, and I hope to convince Jeff Taskey to come as well (our local Husaberg dealer). Perhaps a "slow race" on Saturday night (how good is your balance?), and a big fire of course!

Ride plans, and details in the next post!

Details about the area and the ride(s).

In most of our opinions, Teanaway is the premier trail system to ride. Known for being more on the difficult side of the spectrum, the area gets MUCH less use than the other more commonly ridden trail systems.

However, if you ride the trails the right direction, and map your routes correctly, you can minimize the difficulty.

Saturday will be a 50-60 mile day. Do not scoff at this mileage, this is a good solid day within the Teanaway. Trust me . . . .

There will be several "bail outs" should someone get tired. Also, a second separate loop at an intermediate level. Additionally, there will be a Dual Sport ride option, should the demand be there for that type of ride.

Camp is at roughly 2200ft, with the average ridge trail at 5500ft. The gem of the area, rides 9 miles at 6000ft of primitive single track So, riding in and out of drainages can average 3000ft in elevation change. At one point we will be on the boarder of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Beautiful is an understatement!

Other details worth noting, are that hunting season within this "GMU" or "zone" are not active until later in October. Also historically, campfires will be allowed again by this time of year.

Post or PM me for any details or questions!

My Berg is a supermoto monster not a trail cruiser, so I will not be riding a Berg. But I do have a KTM 300 and would love to get a "tour" of that side of the I-90. I usually ride the south side of the hwy. I will try to get it on the radar and hope to join in the fun.

This a a great start. I would like to also mention there will be a Ladies ride.

A good view of the Teanaway area from one of the ridge trails.

Im interested, let me see if I can get a friend or two talked in to going. I have ridden snowmobiles somewhere close to that area when I was in Seattle, really different terrain from what we have here in Idaho.

Re: Washington State Husaberg get together/ride 9/27-9/29!!!

I thought I would let people know that the Eagle creek, and Manastash forest fires are far from the Teanaway. The Manastash fire is effecting some other good riding though.

There will be a ride on Sunday. Most likely up the West Fork to the north, over Jolly Peak, and generally south back towards camp.

Also, I don't want to discourage people from joining the ride due to the reputation of the Teanaway trail system. Yes you should be at least an intermediate level rider to join the main ride, but there are plenty of us to lend a hand should anyone need it!

The hotels in Cle Elum are exactly 30 minutes from camp, if anyone wants to go that route.

I hope to hear from more Berg riders. Aside from a trail or two in the Gifford Pinchot, this area is the best Washington has to offer!

Is this ride still a go? I have a busy month but I am fairly sure I can make it. I also have at least one friend interested and he has a Berg as well. I could prolly also get a few other riders out with Yamabogs and GTMs.
