Maxxis Endurocross

I just got back from the Las Vegas Maxxis EnduroCross and while I am neither eloquent enough, nor of sufficient memory, to give a complete report of the entire event I feel compelled to use a totally overused word to describe it..... AWESOME!!!
I only went to the race because I live here and got some great tickets. I was prepared not to like it, but I am absolutely not going to miss the next one 'cause short of the ISDE it is about the only chance there is to see so many of the World's top riders compete against one-another (and a good mix of Americans) while actually being able to see all of the action.
David Knight lived up to his rep and won the main, followed by 40 year old MX'r John Dowd.
There were only a few serious crashes with Homero Diaz of Mexico suffering the worst one. The race had to be re-started after the medics brought out the back board and gurney, but fortunately Diaz was able to get up and walk off the course.
Maxxis imported a good thing and even though it is artificial and contrived it was a lot of fun. Made me want to out and ride over some tractor tires and 4ft logs.
Sorry for the lame report, but as I said I was not prepared to like it so I didn't keep track well enough.
Don't know if it'll be on TV and even if it is it won't be as good as it was in person, but if it is I heartily recommend that you tune in and judge for yourself.
If you've never been to 'Vegas use this as an excuse to come here next year. You won't be sorry.

Re: Maxxis Endurocross

i had a blast. i'm going to enter next year. i'm fairly certain i won't qualify for saturday but that's fine with me. i think it would be cool enough just to do some laps on that course and then watch the big boys ride the following day while i get drunk, check out the babes, and cheer for my favorite riders.

i even got a little riding in while i was down there.

Mark, get yourself that Berg you said you will eventually buy and you'll qualify for Saturday.

By the way, what were the brands represented? Models? What was the proportion of 2-stroke versus 4-stroke?

We had an indoor enduro up here in ND a few weeks back. Our rider Robby Wysuph entered the only Husaberg known to exist in ND. It was a blast.

Heres a pic of him in action

Re: Maxxis Endurocross

I was there, with a buddy from Austria, and the whole event was awesome! We called it an 'Indoors-Erzberg', and both of us had a blast watching the guys race. I was really impressed with the two qualifyers from Friday - one of them made the podium. And only somewhat frustrated that our vacation was over, after 4 days of riding in the Ridgecrest area ...
