570 on the speedway track!

Got invited to try the local speedway track with the hill/ice bike.
Remove front brake and go was the simple recipy.
Me and a handful of supermoto riders went around doing heats and the old man beat them all hehe
Such good fun to slide around like mad in good company!

Sliding into turn

Spinning out of turn
Thanks from pollo, plumbbob, jeffk95z and 4 others

Looks like I get another go on sat as they thought I was fun in the mix, new memory card in the gopro already, promise!
They want to beat me back, I get that Ok with that.
In SM youd fall sliding the front, while Im used to do this all the time on the ice, I had the upper hand here from that. They would slide the rear forever while I just threw the bike to the ground and used both tires going sideways to stop it. No doubt these guys were talented and promising and will beat me if they learn too much
Lets keep the learning to a minimum
Thanks from tourist

Tried a different speedway track today!
And I used one of the flattrackers front tyre for rear as it fits the 2.15 19" rim. Better balance sliding into corners yes, but less grip out of turn.

This time no flimsy supermoto riders (lol), but some of the best flattrack guys around here on proper bikes. Was left behind, and so I should be. But thats what training is for eh They were generous with tips and I learned so much today, such great day!!!

Indeed, one of the guys doing a proper speedway bike today was real quick, he turns 77 tomorrow.

Hey Tom Tom I went to a vintage motorcross meeting here yesterday and saw a lot of 'old' guys that were still seriously quick. Mind you, riding a CR500 or KX500 helps too! Didn't see any FC600s which was a shame. I might have to buy one!!

I'd love to try what your doing too. Have fun!

Back on the speedway track today, good fun! Getting the proper technique worked into my spine, starting to look ok, even foot is in the proper FT angle, progress yay!

Had a couple of days to reflect on the riding and whilst I feel the technique turning out well I need more experience in exactly where I end up from sliding at a certain angle and speed, to dare going elbow to elbow at race, dont want to hit a fellow rider -> more training Sorry about the slightly narcissistic touch of this thread, Im just sharing an alternative way of using your berg, if youve done similar riding please post your experiences!

Same track but a much better pic

Thanks from tourist
