How the hell did you get home ? Hope you are back in the saddle soon !

Funny story about the trip home, well it's funny now. My brother came up with my wife from Lubbock late Sunday to get me. He was going to drive the motorhome back with me in it, and my wife pulled my enclosed trailer back with her Tahoe to make it easier for him to drive my old POS motorhome, complete with failing U joints and already marginal brakes. So, the plan was to leave out Sunday evening and drive as far as we could stand. We left Gunnison around 7:00 pm or so.

My brother overheated the brakes going down the east side of Monarch Pass and it was deja vu all over again. Believe me by that time I already had a healthy respect of what happened when you shot off the side of a cliff in Colorado, and did not care to replay the scenario again. We got it stopped on the side of the road, and I calmly went over once again how to drive an old RV down one of the steepest passes in Colorado. We had no further incidences.

We laid over for a few hours in the WalMart parking lot in Trinidad, and got back home mid day Monday. It was a long trip, and I was pretty agitated the whole time. Thanks to my brother for taking the time to come and get me and putting up with me the whole time without beating my crippled ass. I love ya man.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Hopefully i will be back riding in no time.

Glad to hear you are in such good spirits. If you do need surgery on the collarbone, at least you are in the same state as dr mark sanders. After a failed surgery here in idaho I had him fix my collarbone properly. It is worth the trip to houston to have it done right by someone that understands the physiology of motorcyclists injuries and recovery.

Thanks Mark. I'm bummed I didn't get to ride with you and Colby. We have some really good Ortho Drs here. My Dr. is the team physican for Texas Tech althletics, so he has fixed a bone or two. I know Dr. Sanders is good too. I've actually had some correspondence with him in the past. I didn't know he fixed your collarbone.

John,
I learned of your unfortunate incident when DaleEO arrived to ride with some friends and I in Stanley, Idaho. I hope you heal real fast buddy! I missed seeing you and my other Husa pals at FR3. Get well soon and keep your chin up. You'll be back on your scoot in no time! Hopefully we'll be seeing you at FR4.

later,

For a skilled rider, the riding is better in stanley anyway. did u guys get up to custer lookout at all? I cleared a bunch of the deadfall in that area in august. The rest of the stanley area was cleared earlier, by others tho, so i can take no credit for the valley creek area or trap creek, or casino.

We didn't get up to Custer lookout this time. We do however, appreciate all the hard work you, Tresa and your many comrades do in keeping the technical Idaho trails in good shape!

Thank you!

They were open this time...a rare moment when Ken lets his guard down and shows he has a big heart under that grumpy old man act. lol

here's all I got except for the last days in which I will never had as my camera is lost/stolen from Pheonix airport. We'll see how honest the world is. My bet is by by camera.

Brad,

That's a drag about your camera. I can't see the photo's here from work. I have a copy of your card from last dinner, do you want me to burn you a copy and send it to you?

Dale

I suppose that's why they hired Clay, it was his idea.
