License Requirements for FR 3

A few folks have asked what the licensing requirements are for riding in Colorado. I checked with Fritz and here is the information.

Street licensed Vehicles:

You are good to go anywhere.

Off Road Licensed Vehicles:

You will need to buy a Colorado non resident OHV Sticker for $25.25. The $25.00 goes to trail maintenance. The $.25 goes for a free helicopter ride should you require it for medical reasons.

I'll be buying a Colorado OHV sticker to help support the trail maintenance. They are easily had in town.

If you are coming for sure, and need a non resident sticker, post here and Fritz will have them on hand.

I too would appreciate having a Non Resident Sticker awaiting me at Fritz's.

That twenty five cent charge is a real bargain for tuts who has a a massive amount of "medical reasons". He'll be looking for his .25 cent helicopter ride as soon as he arrives.

I guess every one who wants an out of state permit, just leave a note here and I'll take a count and make sure I get theme. It won't be a big deal. Thanks Fritz

I assume colo no longer has reciprocity with civilized states? In which case tresa and I will each need out of state permits.

I tried researching that on Colorodo's official off road permit website and saw no mention of reciprocal agreements anymore.

Guess I'll need one too.

Just saw this posted on another thread.... whew!

http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?name= ... d5d074f6c7

Note: Colorado residents must register their off-highway vehicle with the Colorado State Parks (303) 866-3437. Non-residents are not required to register in Colorado, iff they are registered in their home states. All off-highway vehicles must have an approved muffler and spark arrester. These requirements are subject to change so make sure to contact the Colorado State Parks prior to using your off-highway vehicle.
Important: before riding this trail area, make sure to contact the local land manager regarding current registration, equipment and gear requirements. Also, verify open/closure dates and times

Cheers! E-Ticket

The non resident portion of your post is incorrect.

Out-of-state OHVs
Out-of-state residents who bring OHVs into Colorado must purchase a Colorado Non-Resident OHV permit which is valid from the date of purchase through the following March 31. These permits can be purchased anywhere you get your hunting/fishing licenses in Colorado, via mail-in request, or you can order one online at the Colorado State Parks E-Store.
