I Ride:
new Berg owner (new to me)

52 year old decided to get back on a dirt bike for trail riding possible scrambles if I can get my riding legs back. used to ride yz250's kx500, yz125, etc.. (not in that order and a few more bikes I can't remember) back in the day out in Colorado mountains/single tracks/mx tracks. Now the proud owner of a 2011 fe390 Husaberg, looking forward to getting to know the bike, hope it's old man user friendly. First four stroke I've ever owned hoping I'm not going to miss riding on the pipe of the old two strokes they sure were fun and light in weight to boot (or maybe I was just stronger in my 20's & 30's). I'm impressed with the build qualities of this Berg and hope I get longevity from it (has 48 hours). Previous owner said he did most of the mods needed (cooling fan, fuel pump, etc..) Although I was thinking about a mapping switch (comments?) I must say I'm not impressed with the stock sound from this 390, especially compared to the bigger 4 strokes at the tracks (comments?improvements?) Needless to say I'm a little nervous about getting back on any kind of track as my last experience involved pain and I was a lot younger than. Unfortunately a little harder to find single tracks for open public use down here in south Florida, seemed like endless great trails in Colorado and technical fun. Anyway I wonder if I'll be the only Berg if a do a HS race down here, I looked at local club on you tube and didn't see any. maybe they'll be jealous.
Thanks from paolo6

Re. sound: the stock muffler can be modified; There’s a tube in the chambered mffler that can be cut to open it up a bit. There are posts on it here.. The air intake can also be opened up a little for more power and response, which delivers a little more intake noise amusement to the rider That said, quiet is good too
