Extra oil capacity pre 70 degree Bergs

I wanted the same thing! I want to add extra spin on filter under the seat, to hold as much as possible oil. You need oil pump special cover. I have seen such a thing in the pictures. Recently I have found this OFFROADBOSS.COM they seem to be offering such a cover for oil cooler that they offer. Another excellent way to increase almost a liter is to remove oil seal by the stator side crankshaft main hearing and turning dry stator into a wet stator. Works great. KTM rfs engine has that and possibly exactly the same stator! If I remember correctly bushmechanic has it done by himself on his Gerg. Let me / us know what you find. 800 cc oil amount and frequent oli changes just suck!!! Under the seat I can fit about one liter size oli filter add to this Bushmechanic idea and you have almost three liters!!!
Thanks from NZ FE

Since you have the 70° i can help you straight away as i have this to share… So You Want a Lightweight Adventure Travel Bike?. | Expedition Portal it was shared to me by another kiwi berg rider with a 570. Unfortunately thus exact mod won't work on the 08 but with an aftermarket tank and or wet stator i may be getting to the desired oil capacity and the ability to use the bike as regular transport with out weekly oil changes…
Thanks for the reply and hopefully this helps you.
Cheers Hadrian

I will read slowly to contain info that there is and lots of it!! I will start with external spin on filter. I actually have The 550 that is '07 and in process of importing '08 Fe 550 but it's not 70 degree.

Oops i miss read oh…
But the the plumbing discription is very helpful with the one way value and alike. I have noticed that my stock oil filter cover has a female thread in it so this may be a fractory hit to the fact that it is more than possible to do a oil tank or cooler if needed.
On the Honda XR and XL with the RFVC engine there is a port in the oil filter housing very similar to the Husaberg on, it is used on the BAJA version to add a factory oil cooler, many people use this port to fit aftermarket coolers to the non Baja model bikes. So perhaps the thread in the oil filter cover is the Husaberg version of this honda one…

Once i work out how to post pictures here i can post pictures of my XLR250R and its plugged cooler port that isn't used on mine but i was considering using but didn't really need, and the female thread on my Husabergs oil filter cover. Your may have the same port.
