Hi All

I have looked into the hydraulic mineral oil used for the Megura clutch.
Based upon information from various manufacturers and their safety data sheets, the oil is ISO10 and ISO15 hydraulic oil.
The viscosity index, viscosity grade at temperature, flash point ands density all match. Only problem is ISO10 and ISO 15 hydraulic oil is usually purchased in 20 litre drums.
That is a lot of oil , thus the $15 per 100ml which is from your motor bike shop is worth the convenience.

I have been using 5wt fork oil in my Magura's for years without any issues...
And 1 liter of fork oil costs as much as 200ml 'clutch fluid'.

i use medical mineral oil at about $1 a pint

Magura Blood in what is the new standard is just colored medical mineral oil. Non toxic, safe for the environments and safe on paint. It is available at any bicycle shop cheap :) as they use it in the pedal mountain bike systems also.

Be careful using some fluids as it can damage the seals :)

Pentosin hydraulic fluid from an auto parts store. Used for power steering for European cars.
