I Ride:
Current owner of husaberg 450 -06 without electric starter

Bought this bike very cheap (in Finland) 2200 and it was used in enduro riding and so does it look, but its electric start doesnt work. The starter motor works and the battery is new, i think starter button is broken but not sure about the relay/solenoid. In the relay/solenoid there goes 3 wires, black, red and red/white. And under the red wire there is a spot(liitin in finnish, port?connector?) for some wire i don't know. Should there be some wire connecting to that?

And also i have heard about some shimming plates for the starter? It spins but doesn't spin the motor. Trys but no..

Should this bike be very hard to kickstart, not very familiar with 4 strokes but it was much easier to kickstart honda crf 250 and ktm 520. Something wrong with the motor? It doesn't idle smoothly so does the carburator idle settings matter much?

Thank you and sorry for my finglish english!

it should be pretty easy to start, those that I have kicked were easy to light (first bike I ever kicked was a 550! that was satisfying!!)

maybeee ... clean carb, check and adjust valves, set idle and mixture screw (good instructions on that in manual)

all these can help starting and idle

got owners and service manuals yet? you can download them from this site - "service manuals" section in sidebar on front page ... up to and including '08 manuals work for yours

Yes I have owners manual, I should read it with a though. Have been working my ass off so haven't got much time to work with my bike.. Maybe next week ill do some adjustments.

Anyone know where I could get black 2005 plastics? Bike was sold as 2006 model but it has 04-05 plastics.

Maybe I should use the search more.. sorry

Manuals and search are pretty good, but it's also good to talk about things Share our feelings you know!!

Make sure to get the service / shop manual as well as the owner's. The 'Berg manuals are pretty good - well written and teach a lot about the bike

re. the plastics - I would find the part numbers for the black plastics. The FS models were black most of the years? And then search around a bit, incl. ebay

Trevor Pope in the UK has quite a bit of the black FS plastics in stock at least:

Husaberg fiche finder MASK FENDERS spare parts for the Husaberg FS 650e/6 (EU)

Husaberg fiche finder TANK SEAT COVER spare parts for the Husaberg FS 650e/6 (EU)

not sure if there's a long FE-style fender in black in the OEM catalog? could be but don't know!

more here: Husaberg fiche finder for spare parts

Ohhh, thankyou i have tried to google husaberg aftermarket parts but haven't found that site! But do they sell/ship to finland? Guess not.. And my berg has 04-05 plastics so the front spoilers/shrouds from newer one won't fit, very hard to find black shrouds for this one, but the price is good in that site. It has the ones with ''two holes'' not one. Rear fender/sidepanels are the same from 02? to 08?

Finnish forums zero answers so thank you very much for replying back!

Maybe i do some small build thread about my berg here!

Give some photo of your bike to confirm the year of production.
Or write the number from the engine.

My budjet is limited... For a while.. So i don't have extra money for the plastics now, but does your 'starter repair kit' have different size shim plates comes in different thickness? I have read that people install different thickness shim plates depending how much the starter have worn out.
Still haven't got the time to check the bike properly.. Starter would be a nice add to the bike, should adjust the valves, make some minor modifications and wash every bit of it"!
