2005 fe550e

Just bought this 2005 fe550e in great shape runs great in mint condition. Problem is having a hell of a time starting it. Get it started. It's my fault couldn't get it started out the gate so I turned idle control little to much and flooded it. When I get it started now It will idle for a few then die. Any suggestions

pilot jet blocked or, the pilot screw underneath the carb near the front is possibly needing 1/2 a turn open or thereabouts.

Clean the carb and check your decomp spring is wound correctly
