Three Bond 1211 works well but the white color is a bit drab. I would prefer something blue like the factory stuff.

Features and uses
1211
Low viscosity, fluidic, and excellent workability.
Can be used with solid gaskets and it can be used for temporary fixing of O rings.
Corrodes copper and copper-based alloys. Can not be used for copper and copper-based alloys in tightly-sealed state.

I put the cover on immediately and torque the screws down. Let it cure overnight before starting the motor. I also put a light coat on both sides of the side cover and cam chain tensioner gaskets.

now you see my sidecover gets copper sliped and neither if or the tensioner ever leak whilst i can't gaurantee anything with the rocker cover!

i wish they had put a screw in that front left corner and made it an 8-screw cover.

Off topic, but I use three bond 1211 on my side cover, no leaks... I've used grey permatex on my rocker cover w/o leaks. With the three bond, I'll let it set for about 15 minutes before putting on the side cover. The permatex sits for as long has it takes me to finish the job and place the rocker cover. The three bond sits 3 days prior to starting the bike. The permatex sits for 24 hours.

Try the hylomar ,its like grape jelly & can be used immediately .I have used it in aviation for 25+ years & also on a ton of other stuff. I heard it was invented by rolls royce .

rolls royce? possibly but woulkdn't you put your money on it being their aviation division?

seems agreed by most that you leave it for many hours (overnight?) before starting the bike.

i think the 'howzyama' is underated, perhaps coz it's been around sooooo long!

i found some 'iceberg blue' stuff on a cover last week that had set like rock - no leaks. don't know what it was but it had a blueygreen look.
