main bearing float measurement

By the way does anyone know what the main bearing float/ play shoud be. We know it needs to be set right and not too tight, but what is the measurement??

Hi,

Dale sets his end float at 0.21mm.

I Ride:
according to the great dale lineaweaver, crank's axial clearance for ball bearings is not critical and may be as little as 0.2mm and as big as 0.7mm

Ah that is a big variance.....does anyone know what the workshop manual says etc.

I believe it should be checked before walking out of the shop with a bike?!!!

Here is the data from the 04 Repair Manual:

For 05, the 450 was changed to 0,25 - 0,35 mm

The 06 and 07 manual isn't available on line yet.
