2004 FE450 camshaft advice

I bought recently this FE450 2004 .
Very hard to start when hot ,also in cold condition seems much compression.
i opened the camshaft cover for inspection.
I found the play of tappets for exhaust over 1 mm play ...( yes 1 mm, right ) , The intake tappets space were around the recomandation.
I used 1/6 turn .

I ask other members here to have a look on my pictures to give a feedback about the usage of my camshaft, and the spring for decomp .

Camshaft its quite sharp on the edges but no dents..

Decomp Spring seems quite soft but i dont know the real strenght....

I also found some dent in the cover head where the valves intake and exhaust hitted sometimes , i believe its factory mistake.

i also uploaded a movie about the cam of the autodecomp spring maybe someone can understand its at the end or not..

the decomp spring is way too weak. i do an upgraded one or do it yourself of ccourse! my video of its "strength" is on my Facebook Videos page.

remove that little nut and bolt in the cam sprocket in the last photo. this stops the decomp but it also snaps off and drops through your engine. get it OUT!

cam is OK but the follower bearings aren't central. not a lot you can do unless you are keen!

the profile surface is OK, it will pass.

the valve springs don't look original which means that the caps aren't original which is why the spring cap rubbed against the inside of the rocker cover. rotary file away the metal.

where are the Est EU mountains? Estonia?

Thx Taffy, just seen now the movie "Fitting decomp spring part 1" where you removed the stopper nut on the sprocket . I-ll do that,thanks for the tip.

Here its a pic few days ago in Bbcovina area ( Romania )

Ill order from ur ebay shop the spring .

Meanwhile ill try to overheat the spring )
