Polish Starter Motor Free Run Clutch

My Berg had no problems using the electric starter in Florida where the temps rarely went below 70 degrees. Now that I am in California I am now looking at starting when it is in the 50s. My Revloc clutch puts a lot of drag on the starting mechanism so now with a cold Berg the starter spins freely because the clutch is not engaging. I can kick start it and once it warms up the electric starter works great.

Has anyone tried the Starter Motor Free Run Clutches from Poland found on eBay and if so or that as good or better than OEM?

that is just the standard part. doing its standard job.

you need my starter repair kit. also, you need to go to semi synthetic oil.

cheers

Which oil do you recommend?

Will going to a semi synthetic oil help to prevent my Revloc clutch from slipping in 6th gear? The slipping is only when I crack the throttle. 1st thru 4th there is no slippage. Maybe just a bit in 5th.

might do - it is a start. with fully, your starter sprague has no chance - well, maybe if it was a 400 but basically, no chance with fully. No particular company but I get fed up with talking about oil and geraring and so i got in the official factory oil; Motorex and tell everyone to "go away" if they want to argue it.

get my starter repair kit, get a modified Auto decomp spring if 2004-2008 and if 2001-2003 get the later decomp but still get my modified spring.

what year is your bike?

I have a 2002 FE650e. I put a Honda CB600 starter on it so it has plenty of power to crank but the starter clutch cannot handle it in the cold.

nope. husa 650 clutch diameters are too small to control the torque. you have to learn how to feed the power more gradually. i found the best way was to get real old.

I had a rekluse. not sure whatb the difference between the two was but for mine, we had several ways of controlling the
bite point
the take up; locked or slipping slightly

I was given tungsten and steel balls. these controlled whether it was like I'd dropped the clutch lever or wouldn't let go (so slipping)
the plates gradually wear out, and even quicker so whern they are slipping like yours.

perhaps it is time for new frictions?
