The mini mouse one showed up thank you. If I take my cover off and get it to where I think tdc is and take a pic of flywheel position would you be able to tell if Im in the right position or not?

that isn't a bush under the rocker arm, it is a pivoting elephant's foot.

Ah ok thanks good to know, if I take a pic of my flywheel lined up could you tell me if I'm in the right spot? So all I need for tdc is to align the leading edge bump on the flywheel at the 9 0clock bolt on the compression stroke and that will be tdc and that's where I adjust my valves ? And is there a special feeler gauge ment for it or do I do the 1/6 turn method or is it 1/8 turn method lol and is that accurate? Says my valves are supost to be 012mm and I see other ppl setting them at 010mm ? Is that just so they stay within spec of 012mm as they wear out becsuse the valves gap get bigger as they wear?

yes that is good enough for valve clearances.

Taffy

Note for others.

okay awesome thanks for your help! 1 last thing before I try and adjust them can I use the 1/6 turn method and be all good ? And when at tdc the rocker arms will have play in them right ? I did the intake exsaust compression stroke and looked and the flywheel line was lined up perfect at 9 oclock

you have to have the valve inspection covers off. then look at the inlet valves. as you turn the engine over with the plug out, the bump will be at about 5-6 o clock when the inlets will have been coming up (so they will be closing) and will be closed and stopped at that 5-6 o clock OK? you continue with the flywheel bump taing it around to 9 o clock.

there are two TDCs, you want the one when the inlets have just closed and not the other one when the exhausts are coming up and the inlets are going down...that is the crossover TDC....you don't want that!

ok yes I got the inspection cover off and rad and everything spark plug out . Okay so when Im at true tdc when I move the flywheel bump from 6 oclock to 9 oclock the valves shouldnt move at all and they should be both up (closed) am I thinking right? Lol. And about the 1/6turn method dose that work and good for adjusting them?. Thanks you have been very helpful I just wanna make sure Im at the proper tdc
