Question Markings on gears

Hi guys
I have a 2002 fe 501 , I have just replaced the stator and a few other things to try and breathe new life back into the old girl. The question Iím asking is regarding the ( I think a timing mark) the bottom gear of the cam chain. Is it supposed to be in between the 2marks on the gear below that it connects to ? Mine it sitting 1 tooth out at the moment. And just wanted to make sure

Yes, the dot on the balancer shaft gear is supposed to be placed between the dots on the primary gear.
