Left side cover stuck

I can't get the left hand engine cover off. I've removed
all the bolts
The water pump cover
The water pump impelllor
The kick lever
The kick rubber seal.
The gear lever
Gear lever seal

It will move around the top and the back but seems stuck on the bottom front area?

Any advice very much welcomed

I was clutching straws so removed the lot.

Been back to the garage for a quick sanity check.

Found this hideous repair.....

I'm guessing there's a bolt under it. Completely missed it.

Yeah, not sure how I'm getting round this one. Hours of careful filing maybe

Count on your manual from either the cover or the gasket how many bolts you should have, versus how many you've removed.

On my 08 550, there's 11. And that one in your pic corresponds closely to where there's a bolt on mine. I'm guessing that's the location of a legitimate bolt, one that was stripped, and rather than fix it, it was JB welded in place, or some such hack fix.

All that said, I really struggled to get mine off, and found it easiest to use the frame as a fulcrum and slowly pry the case free on the front against the protruding tab out in the front of the engine case. My big curved Motion Pro tire iron was perfect for this. The curve enabled an inward placement of the fulcrum for greater leverage. Just don't stick the lever into/onto the flange gap between the two pieces, whatever you do!

Stripped thread in the casing I bet. They've overtightened the bolt on assembly and didn't want to take it apart again, hence the bodge!
I think you're going to have to grind that material away and see what's underneath, there must be a bolt otherwise the casing would come off?
Helicoil and your sorted, if you buy engines off sidecar riders you get used to repairing threads!

Now I'm happy, Confused and a bit annoyed allay once

Happy as the liquid metal repair was as shoddy as the idea in the first place, managed to chisel the majority off and got the bolt out. And casing off.

Confused as the threads are fine underneath?

Bit annoyed that it was there a d I didn't see it. Think my casing may require redressing!

If your sure the thread is ok then check that the casing isn't cracked, I've got a casing here that drips oil, the crack is barely visible.
