I Ride: Two FE570 -12
I have heard over some coffee that a 530 cam from some year with a 390/450 airbox should give a nice character to the 570 engine. Please compare the cams and give some more feedback and info when you know
Thanks from berglsmerg and tourist

Good coffee Jon? I just had a great coffee. Brazil monte alegre

What intrigues me is the 390/450 snorkel is for more low down? Am I correct in thinking this?

I need to research the airboxes some more. Maybe a swap between the 450 and 570!

It would be nice to know the specs or even better graphs of these cams but I know that isn't going to happen. Would I be wrong in thinking the 530 cam is somewhere inbetween the 450 and 570 cams?

Al.

It's running well.

A couple of heat cycles and a 15 min run down the road.

Looking forward to the cams to arrive this week, then some track time on Monday 16th weather dependent.

Photobucket is kaput. How do I post pics? I tried Google photos but it doesn't show.

Thanks.

Geez this is a hard forum to post pics on. Trying to get pics down in size where they will be excepted. Oh well.

Another 30-40 mins this arvo giving the 450 a run around the dirt roads (in tard trim) and it's running healthier without any fluid loss. So far so good.

Would be nice if one of the cams turned up tomorrow (Fri) for Sundays ride day. Fingers crossed.

One 530 cam and a 570 cam. Don't know what the differences are in duration and lift from each other or the FX450 cam. If I get time and can find the room to run the dial indicator I'll try and get some numbers.
Thanks from jon andersson

Imgur.com might be a good host. I'll look into useful and hopefully long-term-reliable image hosts for here. (Incidentally the phone Tapatalk app is in some respects clumsy to use, but I think its image uploading feature can help in situations like this.)

I Ride: FE 610 oh yea
The dial indicator is a pain in the arse to set up with the engine in the bike, as is the degree wheel. I found I couldn't get a straight shot at the valve retainer and the flywheel is inboard of the bottom frame rail. I'm going to measure my valve hammer before I put the engine back in the bike.
Thanks from Alan

Hey just got an email from photobucket asking for money or they'll cut off my 3rd party hosting. F-king extortion.
