Anyone have any experience finding a aftermarket cooling fan and installing them? My berg is boiling over too much!!! Is there maybe another problem? Maybe the water pump is going out??? No idea, all i know is that i love my berg and want to keep her alive!! How do you test for heating isues?

There is an aftermarket fan for the bikes... but its up to 180 CAD for me here.
I believe its the same one the 570 uses....

It is also crazy heavy and the mounting of it was through the radiator.
Not only is it heavy and bulky, it draws so much power my charging couldn't keep up.

I have sold it since, and now have a different setup.
Went to a computer store, found the best cheapest fan I could. Paid 8.99 per fan 5x5 inches, mounted two, 1 on each side of the tank, in front of the radiator.
Ran through a fuse, with an on / off switch. It works super AWESOME....
Never drained my battery, never over heated, never broke. Its been 2 years and they went through the pressure washer countless times... always work .

Mind you I am only using them when in technical trails below 20 km / hr
Every other time I rely on wind... but I have left them running all night long with the bike off (forgotten to turn them off) and my battery was still fine after 8 hours.

But if you could explain what you are doing when the bike over heats? Maybe its not a fan related issue. Could just be water pump or crappy coolant.

When you take the rad cap off do you see many popping air bubbles?
You can get a performance coolant tester for like 10-20 bucks (or rent one) to check the quality of coolant.

What brand and part number would be helpful for the fans?

I'm installing a fan on another bike, but my fe570 already has one of the trailtech digital units. That is an easy self contained way to do it if you have enough room. For the other bike I just bought a 4in Spal fan (p/n 3010.301 from Amazon and will fab up some brackets that attach it to my rad guards. You can look it up and the higher flow 5.2 in version on Spal's website. It moves about 150 cfm as a puller with 0 pressure drop. I don't like the through-radiator mounts either.

Cheap computer fans are not waterproof or dustproof and will die quickly. They also don't move very much air unless you get a larger more expensive one. The price goes up hugely if you get a waterproof model. You can look on Digikey under fans and then use filters like 12v, etc. They also have a filter to select waterproof and dustproof.

I am probably one of the few people that know exactly where Heber city is - my sister used to live there. Lots of riding close by.

Good luck

Do a search on here, I know there's a few threads already talking about fans for your Berg.
