FE 570 Cam

Anyone put an aftermarket cam in a FE 570?

I have a 2011 FE 570 and I am building it for a snow bike this winter with w Timbersled Kit on it.

The snow bikes like the top end as that is where we spend most of out time, banging limiter haha

I heard the 570s could benefit from some top end and the cam is one of the weak points.

only thing I can find for cam work is these guys

I use a thumper racing/web cams spray welded unit, it has a nice mid to top surge without sacrificing too much tractability. Some people talk of using a fe 450 cam.

Since you're looking for more top end power, you might consider opening up the intake tract. There has been a lot of discussion about this on various forums (forae?):

The 450 cam has less lift and shorter duration than the 570 cam.

I don't know. I just put them against each other and compared visually.

which thumper cam are you referring to? the one for the KTM 570 BB?

Also i cant put a hole in my seat because i need to keep as much snow as possible out of there, luckily the HUsaberg airbox is well designed but on powdery days they can still get snow stuck in them. So I don't want to put a hole that will drop snow in vertically. Possibly i could put some prefilter overtop of it but i would still be worried about it.

Web Cam Inc. - Performance and Racing Camshafts / Husaburg SOHC 4v Timing Card

Water in the air box sucks, I know better now !

The 390 air box is the ticket, it has a small trumpet in it, if a little bit of water/snow gets in then the trumpet should keep the water from entering the intake tract and snuffing the motor. You can trim the top edge of the radiator shrouds for a bit more air flow. A longer intake in theory will work better for top end.

sounds good looks like i will have to get the 390 intake even if it doesn't benefit performance.

also i have bulletproof rad guards on already so the plastic ones have been removed.
