I'm starting a new thread here, as the old one has become very large and seems impossible to move from the market place. not sure why they don't think the coffee percolator crank vent is the cutting edge of the project :D

If you don't have access to fancy tools making the necessary thickening on the cooling stub, a weld will have to do! Make sure there is enough piece of straight tube to fixate it in the lathe. Voila!

Problem-solving is fun.

I'm really curious about the EFI conversion. Did you have a timing wheel machined for the flywheel? Easy fit? How is the cam sensing done? (Is there only one canonical way to do that. .?)

Thats a novel right there... "Conversion" gives you the wrong idea. Development and manufacturing is more realistic! [emoji6]
The trigger is on the upper cam chain wheel and comes from one tooth only. I used a visual indication of TDC (on the flywheel) to calibrate the position of TDC against the tooth, which was done in the software. I have no sensor on the flywheel. Oh, no flywheel either for that matter!

The lousy machinist in my workshop, probably the same b-stard that misplaces my tools all the time, managed not to get the cylinder sleeve flange square. So I had to machine a shaft to put the sleeve on, just to shave off 0,04mm to make the flange square and equally thick. Hm. I do not seem to have any problems keeping myself busy...
