hello,

Im looking for help identifying the year of this engine. The paperwork says its a 99 501 exc, but the starter, rotor and stator looks different. maybe an 05?

That is a 1st generation engine with keihin fcr and a later ignition or at least the later ignition cover . Would be interesting to see if it has a sem or kokosan stator

I Ride: Husaberg FE 400 00, Husaberg Fe450 07, Husaberg FC 600 -99, Yamaha FJ1200 -86 Yamaha RD350 -84
It is a 99 501 with SEM and not original Keihin carb.

Yes and itís the second generation of the SEM
Then in 2000 same engine with hydraulic clutch
