Help! Stripped oil drain hole.

Hello. My drain plug hole on my Husaberg fe450 is stripped and I've drilled it out and tap it to the next size.

But it seems that the treads are not so good and do not seal.

What are your thoughts on using the drain plug with the oil screen to drain oil and glue the main drain plug In place??

Re: Help! Stripped oil drain hole.

it would help if you filled out the location info and put the year/ model bike in your signature.
assuming a '04-'08 bike, i have previously fixed one by tapping the hole to fit a 1/4 " pipe fitting that i put in place with sealer. the case is very thin there so care needs to be taken when installing the fitting. i used a 1/4 - 1/8 fitting and used a 1/8 plug for a drain.

I used a Timesert to repair my 650. Needed to shorten it though, as the clearance inside is tight.

I got burned big time, sand got into the motor via the breather which had come off and then into the oil pump via draining thru the screen, long sorry short I am now half way through a full rebuild

the passage to the filter tube is in the back of that tube and won't allow u to drain all the oil.
the reason i used the pipe adapter as i did was to keep from removing it from the case when doing an oil change. you just remove the plug in the adapter.

I did the same and had a heli coil insert fitted, like a time sert, by local husaberg dealer. Worked great and you just carry on using standard bolt.

I then brought a torque wrench.......
