Did your bike start doing this right after you did the work to your bike? Judging from what I understand, I think your problem is either in the timing ( when you replaced the stator) or in the carb ( float might be set to low or there might be something blocking a jet or hole somewhere). I would recheck the timing at the stator and if you had the head off, would recheck the cam timing as well. What kind of carb is on your bike? Hope this helps you solve your problem. Good luck.

After i rebuilded the engine it´s was running great, but suddenly it´s started to stutter and loose power on high revs. Then i put in new needle, jet needle, mainjet ,pilotjet.....well all things that i could replace in the carb (dellorto 40). The engine started to run great again and i was happy.
After about 20 hrs its was similar problems, so i cleaned up the carb, valve clearance ok, but there was only 22 ohm on the stator there it should be 27ohm, and the stator didn´t looks so fine and healthy(thougt that thats was the problem). I put in a new stator butt the problem stays.
the timning on the ignition is ok and also the timning on the cam.

on 1, 2 and 3 gear its runs fine, but on the higher gears it runs like a bags off nuts. it doesn't happen so much when i pull up the throttle, its just "brrrrrrooooooooooooooooool"

I just cant figure it out what the problem is.

Does the bike sound like its running out of gas when you really open it up? There might be something in the fuel lines or petcock. Check the vent hoses on the side of the carb to. I have heard if they get blocked it might cause your problem also check to make sure the vent on the gas cap is clear, hose as well. Sounds like some little something is being overlooked.Good luck and take your time. Post what you found out.

Hello again. Now i have checked everything again (yes i have tried different sparkplugs), but the problem still stays.

It´s funny, on 1,2,3 and 4 gear the motor runs and responde very good, but when i come up to 5 and 6 gear it loose power.........why just only on the higher gears

Sounds like a fuel restriction. It runs fine up through the first 4 gears, but then bogs like runniing out of gas?

Think Splat is correct unless the intake boot is sucking flat as the RPMs increase.

Hi Oaken,
Try a main jet size reduction as all else remaining equal sustained heavy load / high rpm operation provides for a richer fuel mixture then that of transient (acceleration) conditions.

Your recent engine overhaul could indeed cause such a situation as efficiency (ie Venturi signal) has likely been enhanced as a result. In addition as time marches on your air filter (however clean) diminishes in its ability to provide clean air with minimum restriction.

Example:
If you are currently using a 180 MJ try a 170, etc.

Note:
To the contrary I have also experienced OEM carburetors that could not deliver enough fuel as a result of excessive metering rod (ie needle) restriction. A quick test is to remove the main jet entirely and test. If the fuel delivery does not prove grossly rich @ WOT one must restrict the main air bleed in order to return control to that of the main fuel jet.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Dale
