2008 fs650e transmition issue

hello there, its been more than a while since i last posted here!
here 's the deal, i rebuilted the whole engine few months ago due to a broken camshaft bearing.
con-rod, cam shaft, all bearings (except of the gearbox ones) , camchain, piston rings, rollers, etc . all these were replaced.

the motor sounds sweet (except for a small whining noise on low revs while opening the throttle) , performs as it ment to do (64 hp on dyno) and all gears change smooth.

i saw a small difficulty to find neutral , i was able to do it easier before rebuilt

i noticed though that while entering a corner and drifting the rear wheel, the gearbox seemed to simultanuesly "missing" the selected gear.

it was like it was getting to neutral for a second .

i opened the clutch (i used STM slipper clutch then) and i found some wear in the bearing ramps.
i removed the whole system and put back the original one.

now, when i enter a corner and start to drift, i use the clutch manually as a slipper clutch (slight press on the lever)
. i noticed the same thing happens.

its like its missing the selected gear for a fraction (it does not happen one time but multiple times during drifting).

to perform a test, i accelerated untill 6 gear and then select 4th or 3rd and decelarated without the use of brakes, only using the engine brake. i slightly pressed the clutch lever and same thing happened.
it also produced a "missed gear" sound coming from the transmission somewhere.

i am ready to dissmantle the engine again, so if you have something in mind ...

best regards!

*there is absolutely no problem in acceleration , all gears are holding perfectly.

normally I'd say the problem has to be in the left hand side but you have had the engine apart!

You need to take everything out of the left side and start again. find neutral by rotating the drum as far to the right as it will go, snick it back a little and that should be neutral! and that is where you put the 'neutral' on the star washer.

check the selector fork isn't binding. have one more go like that and if it persists well......it is engine down next time isn't it!

regards

thank you very much taffy!

i just opened the clutch cover and checking everything again.

i hope i will avoid splitting the engine again...its too hot here for this kind of work

damn,

my technical advisor asked me whether its possible to have done something wrong with the clutch fluid or something.

back then i read that someone can switch the fluid from expencive MAGURA BLOOD to BABY OIL!

is it possible that this is the problem? i mean that it may expand more with heat and actuate the clutch

the clutches often pack up after being 'disturbed'. an engine rebuild and you lose your clutch....yes crazy i know!

you must reverse bleed them you cannot bleed down from the bars. it. will. not. happen!

baby oil is an alleged fix because it is 99% mineral oil - or so they say!

BTW, it is the O ring on the slave piston that has 'gone'.

Re: 2008 fs650e transmition issue

so, taffy

you were very right about the oring in the slave cylinder, it had developed a square profile...

also changed the baby oil with the original magura blood, bleed with a syringe from the nipple in the slave piston, put the STM slipper back checked everything in the clutch area....

the problems still remains!

one observation though (and correction actually to my first post).

the problem occurs ONLY IN 3RD GEAR.

if you select 3rd gear, speed it up and then let it roll with engine brake, then it will act as if as it simultanuesly goes to neutral for many times.

i repeat that thee is absolutely no issue when accelerating at all.
