jet settings for MX (husaberg TE 300)

hello, i have a husa 300 and use it for some soft enduro-riding, but i also like to use it for fullcross-purposes.

in my manual the biggest jet is a 170, but in the manual there is said that these jets don't count for riding in sand-conditions..

the biggest jet i had was a 180, i tried that one and the bike suddenly had twice the power, so i think that the other jet was way too small. i think i'll have to take a look in my cilinder beacause it probably has detonated

i also changed the stationarry jet, and it seemed as if the bike started running without touching the gas, is this possibly ? if not then i probably did something wrong with the throthle cable..

i think i'll best put in a new piston, because this small jet was installed for about 150km

so has anyone an idea wich jets i'll have to install for MX ?

are there any other adjustments i could do to improve this te300 handling in MX ?

(i use it for MX because the enduro trails here dissapearing as we speak and are most of the time illegal to ride)

my bet would be that your piston is fine.

but for jetting advise i would suggest you go to ktmtalk.com lots of info on your bike there.

TE300 is just a ktm 300 with blue plastic an a bigger tank

thnx for the info, but i was kinda hoping that someone here could help me

BTW: i think the husaberg is much better then the ktm, i've tried them both and fell in love with the husa
the suspension on the husa feels much better then the one on the ktm..

Re: jet settings for MX (husaberg TE 300)

i"ve put in a 190 main jet, and i think its good now, i'll have to test it at the mx track though

i'm also thinking of getting a bigger rear sprocket

i've lowerd my clamps so my fork sticks out a bit, and the bike's handling has improved alot ! much easier to steer into small corners

if there is anyone who has som suggestion about the jet settings of handling, be free to share them

I would have thought you'll be fine with that piston. the MJ controls the needle and therefore mid range so what you take as way lean was just the mid range under performing. none of us spend any time at sustained max rpm and therefore enough to do damage.

so I think you'll be ok.

ktmtalk.com will be the place to go for jetting info.

Re: jet settings for MX (husaberg TE 300)

i installed a 190 mainjet for MX-sand riding and it was very good, incredible performance and the sparkplug was nicely coffee colored

i noticed some leaks at my fork, shifter and front sprocket so i'll have to replace the gaskets

i ordered the gaskets for the shifter and the sprocket and tomorrow i will take my fork to a WP-shop for maintenance and tuning

i took a look into the cilinder and it seemed fine, still doubting about changing the piston though
