Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

I had it installed at the Husaberg dealer.
I will mention it to him when I get a chance.

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

My Husaberg has about 127 hrs on it now. It leaked oil from the weephole from around
20 hrs. I lived with it for nearly 100 hrs. The weep was consistantly predictable.
Enough to saturate the sound deadening mesh some between the skid plate and motor.
I learned it was a Berg thing from a poor design.
Boss even mentioned to me that the Orangeberg kit might not completely fix the problem.
Almost, but not quite. So in my case it was true.
But it almost doesn't want to leak at this point so the cover is definetly not coming off for
a whole 10 drops of oil.
And even before when it leaked more there was never a noticeable drop in oil level.

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

PM sent

Howdy
Bear with me
I have read the threads, but I have proberly missed it.(scratches head)
IMO I think a simple checklist of required parts for this weephole fix would simplify things a little.(for me )
My 04 650 is currently losing both oil & coolant. Not alot but increasing slightly. The bike sat for a while.
I have PMed ORANGEBERG for a kit, but am still not 100% of what else is needed to be ordered from the dealer ect.
It would be nice to know I have everthing needed for the job before commencement,
as to minimise down-time..
Any-one that has performed this task able to help with a checklist ???
Thanks

Not always required, but a clutch cover gasket and water pump gasket means that you're good to go. John supplies, bearing, bearing carrier, shaft seals, and shaft protection for seal installation, along with instructions.

The gaskets can be installed dry. I like to use a smear of grease on them as a sealant and to get them to stick a bit. Means they'll come apart later too, and be reusable.

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

10/10 on the weephole kit + coolant seal & gaskets..
Worked a treat.
Had a bit of trouble with the kick-start jamming up, but after talking to John that was a very fast/easy fix.
Not a drop of oil or coolant coming from the weephole at all now.
Thaks

John! Is there a change that you or someone that has already got the kit could post photos of the kit? I would like to see it, and see perhaps the diffrence.

thanks

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

when i said its changed it was only a bearing upgrade, Bigger for more service life. a simple re-program of the cnc lathe and my alloy carrier was modified to accept a bigger bearing.
The kit comes with a seal to stop the oil leak which interlocks with the new bearing carrier. Plus a protector for the seals when you reinstall and fitting instructions with photos.
Gaskets or an original water pump seal is NOT included in the kit because it would drive up the price of the kit and most times i find that the customer already has these extra parts plus the majority of my kits go to the US you can buy the extras a lot cheaper there than we can in OZ.
I can supply the bearing carrier kit $85 aud plus gaskets ( clutch cover inner $47 aud and water pump $5 aud ) plus the WP seal $15 aud if you need it. add $15 postage
If you are extra carefull when removing covers use the correct puller for the original bearing you can re use all these parts. eg grease the shaft when removing the cover and use my protector when you put it back on you may not need a WP seal ???.
Thanks John ORANGEBERG email: priorperformance@bigpond.com

Take a look at the pics and the one in the cover is the old smaller bearing , the one with it separated is the bigger bearing

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

Does anyone know if John is still out there and selling the kit? I have tried email and PM and haven't made contact with him yet.

Any info would be appreciated.

Just replace the shaft o ring at the same time i have found that it can leak if this is not replaced at the same time otherwise John,s kit is the fix.

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

I'd be interested in buying a kit... any other interest in Canada or the U.S.? Maybe we could put an order together to save on shipping from AUS? Or is there a N.A. Dealer who stocks these?
