The reason i usually take the whole cover off is because i fit my kit and change the waterpump seal while im there as its easier, the seal directly behind the impellor is only the waterpump seal, you cannot buy the other seal behind that stops the oil as it is part of the bearing and comes as one piece and to access this assembly you need to take the whole cover off and knock the bearing out. Then when you fit a new seal and bearing from Husaberg it will leak oil again after a short while thats why i developed the ORANGEBERG kit.

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

I had the kit installed a few weeks ago.
Just rode it the other day around the neighborhood .
No leaks of any kind. Nice
Interesting thing though. When in gear at a stop the bike wanted to continue forward a little.
The clutch seemed to work fine though when starting to go again with it releasing fine.
Just when at a stop in wanted to keep rolling just a little. I could hold it without brakes,
but something a bit peculiar.
After getting back home it seemed to stop doing this and idled in gear fine .
What was that?

the clutch plates tend to stick together when cold and after no use for a while will drive forward when you engage the gear on take off, once you activate the clutch a few times under load and the oil warms up it tends to break the stiction of the oil between the plates. Some oils may be worse than others, downtime is a major contributor. Just tell the wife you need to ride more often !!!!.
Most KTM/Husaberg clutches are the same part and have always had tendancy to drag a bit whilst in gear.
Thanks for the feeback on my weephole kit

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

Thank you John,
I do ride every week. Except the wrong motorcycle. The Jap bike at the Vet track
I will ride the Husaberg more often now.
My mechanic was impressed with your kit and especially with the size of the rubber seal that
covers the shaft better.
It will be recommended to the next weep hole fix in his shop.
He has your info .

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

Since installing the kit I have ridden the bike several times. The last 2 rides were off road for 30 miles each.
It still leaks oil from the weephole. Barely. It seems to be just a few drops, literally. Just enough to make it
down the side of the engine last week and today the same with a few drops on the frame rail also.

Re: ORANGEBERG WEEPHOLE KIT

theres got to be something wrong then.
i take it, you took care installing it,making sure you didn't damage the seal getting it over the circlip groove?
that can be easily done,if not careful.
make sure there is no excess play in the c.b bearing, that will flog the seal out in no time.
it should be a tight fit where the new bearing boss goes into the sidecover, check that.
are you sure the shaft is ok,with no worn grooves where the seal seals on the shaft?
i know my c.b shaft had grooves worn in it.same thing, it was constantly weeping.
if that is the problem, the cheapest & easiest way, is to build the shaft up again with a bit of weld, then file it back to shape.thats what i did with mine.its been over 3 years now & i still have no leak from there.
other than that,a new shaft isn't cheap & you have to split the motor to get it out.
take a good look at everything,it doesn't just leak for no reason.
..weed..
