New distributor ?

I just seen in the March 2007 issue of Dirt Rider an ad for Dixie Dist. for Gas Gas and Husaberg . No more BMG ?

Does anyone know if this Dixie Dist. is the old Gas Gas dist., the Don Knight family ?

BMG owns Dixie. My hunch is that there will be quite a tax savings for BMG by putting the Husaberg label under an American company (that is owned by a Canadian company). But that is just a guess

Gentlemen

Dixie Sales is a sister company to BMG. They have been handling the parts distribution duties since day one of BMGs involvement in the USA, so that in nothing new. Partsguy is still very much involved, in no different capacity than before.

Fred Hoess will handle east coast sales and whatever comes his way in racing. I cannot speak for the finer details of his job description, I can say that he is good man and has a wealth of experience in marketing offroad motorcycles. Fred and I spent the last 5 days together, and I was unaware of his experiences with Huquarna and Ducati.

This is certainly no time to think that the sky is falling.

cheers

Lee

"Partsguy is still very much involved, in no different capacity than before"

Why did "Parts Guy" use your screen name to give the following state of the union speech?

Is Parts Guy no longer a UHE member?

What exactly is your official role regarding Husaberg?

I am aware Dixie sales was involved from the very beginning as all of my BMG parts orders had their return shipping address.

For clarification please be so kind as to define "Sister Company".

Thanks,
Dale

Time for me to come out of the weeds. First of all want to wish Brett all the best, in his futrue endevors. 'nuff said.

There are many issues that I have read about over the last few days that I would love to comment on, and bring fact to, but fiction makes for better reading and entertainment for us all. If anyone wants to pursue with me personally great give me a call or send me an email my contact info is below.

For the last 4 years I have been part of the team, and have sat beside Josh in many factory meetings and the most important meeting, the original one at the KTM Offices in the US which brought Barrett into the mix. I am, and have been for the last 18 mths, been directing the business for Husaberg and Gas Gas for Barrett Marketing Group and now Dixie Sales. I been involved in the decision process for the rights and the wrongs but for the most part have felt that we as group moved the Husberg line forward in North America and now I look forward to moving the product forward with Dixie Sales. I am excited about the possibilities for our product and look forward to supporting the dealers and the customers of this brand. I am looking to hire a dedicated person who will bring enthusiam and knowledge to the Husaberg family on the West Coast, however until that time all dealers have been notified that I will be their contact.

Wishing everone success and goodwill for the coming year.
Thanks for Fryguy for letting me use his handle to post.

Roy was using my laptop, could not remember his password and I offered 'my space'.

As far as the details of the Dixie/BMG relationship, I don't know much and, frankly I don't care. Googling the two names will likely get you all you need to know.

My role with Husaberg, as it has been for the last two years, has been sales rep for western Canada. I have tried to leave my activity on this site casual and of the enthusiast nature and wish also to keep it that way.

regards

Fry

Fry,
"Sister Company" peaked my curiosity and from your statement I thought you would have a definition. In any event, thank you kindly for the prompt reply.

Well let's hope going forward that there are some east coast sales as there's absolutely no Husaberg presence here in the Northeast which is Fred's home turf!
The lone dealer in NJ is hardly what I'd called an active dealer or a good representation for the Berg brand.Hope Fred gets us a couple of dealers that will represent us easterners as well as Boss,Bike Barn & Motoxica does you westerners.

I used the dealer locater for the 250 mi. radius from north central MA.
No dealers of Husaberg. However there were 5 Gas Gas dealers listed and I know of a 6th that was not listed. Maybe something will change in time.
