Re: Replacement sub frame fuel tank is in the works!!!!

Okay here's the latest,

Talked with the mold maker yesterday and the "model" is being cut and assembled at this time should be ready middle of next week. I'll be out of town with my girl friend for a few days next week, so I'm planning on being at the mold makers facility at the end of next week or the beginning of the next depending on how the "model" construction goes.

Right now we are looking at maximizing the sub frame tanks own fuel fill spout or cap. Trying to find just the right cap that will be as small as possible, yet allow easy filling of the sub tank from the that location. We have several idea's on different caps, their pluses and minuses.

It's looking like we are going to recess the area where the wiring harness is in the sub frame by a 1/4 inch. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the clearance between the shock reservoir and the harness as the frame spar is right there. However, the changes we are going to make will be an improvement over stock, as several stock bikes have been found to have chafing due to the stock fuel pump cover retaining screws rubbing on the harness clamp.

The adapter plate that I mentioned before is going to be modified a bit further to allow even more clearance than we previously had, it didn't hit anything but we want to make it better so that is why I did not post any pictures.

We will be going live with the 70 Degree Racing web site very soon and will be taking pre orders for the tanks, as well as other Husaberg aftermarket products. We hope to be adding new products through the coming weeks and months dedicated to Husaberg motorcycles.

So there you have it, the latest and greatest.

Fritz and Gunnison motorsports told me that you are meticulous and that this tank should be perfect when released

Well we certainly support that vote of confidence!! As they say the devil is in the details, as I posted earlier we should be ironing out the final configuration in the next two weeks.

Just heard today that the model is done. I expect to be heading out to the molders place sometime next week to make the necessary changes to the model and then the mold itself can be built. -Progress-

Re: Replacement sub frame fuel tank is in the works!!!!

All,

Well we are in the final stretch now of getting our mold made. The model is done, and all the remains is for me to visit the molder later this week and iron out the final details on the model, and then it will be off to the fiberglass shop, and then off to the foundry to have the mold made.

The 70* degree racing site ( http://www.70degreeracing.com ) is now up and running and we are now taking pre orders on the tanks. As well, we are selling Bullet Proof Designs guards. I just installed a set of the radiator guards the other day on my bike and I can tell you these things are burly to say the least!!! Super simple to install, and much better air flow than with the stock louvers, and, because of their design, small debris that passes through the openings simply drop out through the open bottom of the guard. Unlike the stock louvers where debris would pile up and cause air flow loss. Check out the 70 Degree Racing guarantee on the "Order and Contact Information" page at the site.

Another product that is coming down the pike at 70*, is a coated mid pipe that will cut the skin temp of the mid pipe by almost 70% details coming soon on that. I have one coming to me in the mail at this time, and I will be testing it out and taking temp readings.

I'm trying to figure out how to post some pics of the model, but, can't seem to up load any photo's to my gallery at this moment. So will do that as soon as I can.

Hi there Dale,

If you look directly below the post box where you type your text, you'll see two tabs; "options" and "upload attachment". Click the latter and you'll see the control panel for attaching files to your post.

For your gallery album, you'll need to register separately in the gallery system. I'll be adding to the gallery template to better explain the distinction between the two systems.

thanks,
